Instructions for STEM 3D project

Materials needed:

  • markers to color in worksheets (optional)
  • empty Kleenex tissue box (square or rectangle)
  • penguin 4 panel pdf (penguin activity sheet 1)
  • penguin mom with egg (penguin activity sheet 2)
  • children size scissors
  • glue stick

1. Cut out the four penguin panels from penguin activity sheet 1.

  • old man holding penguin (bond for life)
  • sea lion (predator)
  • penguin and krill (penguin food)
  • oil tanker (human impact)

2. Paste panels on sides of tissue box with glue stick

3. Cut out penguin parent, baby penguin, and egg from penguin activity sheet 2.

4. Make a nest on top of the tissue box out of brown paper bag material.

5. Set the penguin parent on the egg on the nest in top of box. 

6. Replace egg with baby penguin.
